This intensive program prepares the student for a variety of careers: cosmetic retailing, specialty make-over assignments, photographic and print work, and theatrical and television/film make-up artistry. The program includes a hairstyling component, a fashion make-up photographic session, airbrushing, special effects make-up, and film orientation. Students also benefit from a course on resume preparation and job search skills. The program may be taken on a part-time basis over a 12-month period or full-time over a 6 or 8-month period. The Fashion Portfolio Program and the Make-up Studio Program meet the needs of students wishing to improve their English language skills while completing a six-month career-oriented diploma program in fashion or make-up fundamentals. INTERNATIONAL FASHION STUDIO PROGRAM Students in the Fashion Studio Program will be introduced to fashion illustration, styling, promotions, merchandising and buying. Current fashion designers are studied, as well as boutique and branding trends. Students have the opportunity to create their own styling looks for a fashion shoot, and design their own store layout and concept. A recognized Canadian diploma will be issued to each successful graduate, as well as an e-portfolio CDRom showcasing their work. This program costs $6,500. INTERNATIONAL MAKE-UP STUDIO PROGRAM Students in the Make-up Studio Program will learn the fundamentals of make-up application for day-time and evening, weddings, fantasy, and photography. The Esthetics Diploma Program teaches the student the skills they need for a career in the salon and spa industries. Studies in anatomy and physiology are combined with courses that teach students the art of anticipating and responding to the client’s needs. Courses in Skin Care, Body Care, Nail Care and Make-up Fundamentals lead to internationally recognized skills and an Esthetics Diploma that prepares the graduate for a career in world-class salons and spas. The Nail Technology Diploma Program teaches the student the skills they need to create beautiful nail fashions in a salon or spa environment. Beginning with basic Manicure and Pedicure procedures, the student continues on to learn more advanced skills such as the application of acrylic nails, specialty treatments, and nail art and airbrushing. The program also includes business training to help the graduate establish herself in the industry. The program may be taken full-time for three months or part-time for 6 months.
