School of Business
BUSINESS - ACCOUNTING (Korean)
This two-year diploma program is designed to train students to work in accounting. Various areas of accounting including financial accounting, managerial accounting, taxation, financial management and various accounting computer programs are covered. Some courses include English, economics, law, finance, and statistics. These courses are designed to broaden the student\'s business background and improve their generic skills. Within the accounting and other courses the student will be exposed to a number of accounting and business computer software packages including Simply Accounting, Accpac Plus, Word and Excel.
BUSINESS - MARKETING
This two-year diploma program provides students with a specialization in marketing and a strong general education in business. Graduates will also obtain mobile computing skills using state of the art notebook computers to interact in a collaborative fashion with peers and course leaders. Students will be provided with a laptop computer pre-loaded with the necessary software for course work. This will allow graduates to immediately contribute in a meaningful way to an organization\'s marketing program using modern information technology tools. Graduates will also benefit from the application of computing technology in the program through enhanced research abilities, collaborative learning, computer proficiency, and improved communications skills. The program consists of four levels and is designed to provide both marketing theory and applications.
School of Hospitality and Tourism
HOTEL RESTAURANT AND MANAGEMENT PROGRAM (Korean)
This two-year diploma program is designed to provide students with the knowledge and practical skills necessary for careers in the Hospitality and Tourism industry . The industry continues to expand creating a demand for highly skilled, people-oriented employees. For the industry to stay competitive, it requires graduates with good service orientation and managerial techniques.
TOURISM AND TRAVEL
This two-year diploma program is designed to develop the multifaceted skills required to work in the travel industry . Students acquire an understanding of the travel business, become familiar with the world\'s tourist areas, and develop the marketing and communication skills necessary to function effectively in a travel organization. Emphasis is placed on understanding travel industry technology, fare assessment, selling techniques, customer relations, guidelines and regulations, and product knowledge. An interest in the culture and geography of different areas of the world is desirable. The travel industry is hectic, fast-paced and continually changing. The nature of the work demands that candidates have strong interpersonal and communication skills, be willing to work with the public, and be well groomed. Maturity and a willingness to accept responsibility are also essential.
School of Advanced Technology
COMPUTER ENGINEERING TECHNOLOGY (Korean)
This three-year diploma program trains students to analyze, design, code, and test systems, programs, and modules written in a variety of assembly and high-level languages; to design, assemble, test, and install digital hardware, peripheral devices, and communications equipment; and to evaluate hardware and software, and make recommendations regarding its use and modification.
COMPUTER PROGRAMMER
This two-year diploma program, which may be taken in as few as 16 months and which may also be taken through a co-operative education mode, is designed to train students in computer programming methodologies and languages. Emphasis is given to program analysis and design and using graphical user interfaces. Students also gain knowledge in basic business principles and procedures.
COMPUTER INFORMATION SYSTEMS
This program provides the necessary training to qualify a person as an entry level business applications programmer. It is designed to equip graduates with ample knowledge in various programming languages, system analysis, database systems, data communications and good program design. In order to earn the certificate, students must successfully complete a total of fifteen courses.
English as a Second Language

Algonquin Language Institute offers an exciting English as a Second Language program designed to meet the needs of International students.
The Algonquin Language Institute offers eight levels of full-time instruction (25 hours per week). International students who wish to improve their English language communication skills and/or prepare for college or university entrance will find a program suited to help them meet their objectives. Friendly, caring instructors provide a supportive environment for learning. All our professors are highly trained with undergraduate degrees and TESL certification.
The program consists of classroom instruction, independent study and \"living language\" experiential learning. Field trips in the city allow the students to communicate in English and to become familiar with OTTAWA, Canada’s Capital.
Students have full access to the Multimedia Language Training Centre for independent and/or computer-assisted learning.
Students may choose to register in additional classes such as: TOEFL preparation, conversation classes, and business communication skills.
School of Media and Design
INTERIOR DESIGN - ADVANCED (Korean)
Graduates of the three-year full-time program are eligible to become legally registered Interior Designers. This program represents the first year of study in the three year program. Students are taught to design innovative, creative interior spaces by identifying problems related to the function and quality of our surroundings. To do this, the program curriculum encompasses 2D and 3D design fundamentals, creative problem solving, functional relationships, communication skills, knowledge of building materials and construction, furnishings, conventional and computer aided drafting, the business of interior design, and the history of design. The impact of design upon people and the built environment is studied within nine liberal art courses covering topics such as psychology, ethics, economics, ecology, aging and society.
COMPUTER ANIMATION
This certificate program provides artists with the technical and creative skills needed to express themselves professionally on the computer. Students work in a fast-paced and intensive environment learning how to effectively produce their own animated shorts, web pages, games, digital movies and more.
GRAPHIC DESIGN
This dynamic three-year program provides strong practical, theoretical and computer training. The program focuses on training in layout and design for print, multimedia and internet design. Additional courses in advertising, business ethics and negotiation complete their studies.
How we prepare our students for a successful design career: Our instructors are experienced working professionals who are focused on the students\' success. Students are trained on the latest Macintosh computer equipment with the most current graphic software packages. In addition to course assignments, students are involved in contracts, which are typical of the design field. During the third year, students are placed in the field for on-the-job training and experience.
