Choose a study pathway

Start with the qualification and skills you want to gain. Compare the subject, teaching language, delivery format and location before choosing an institution.

University, college, vocational, secondary and language programs serve different goals. A familiar school name does not establish whether a particular campus or program fits your project.

  1. Write down your goal
  2. Compare at least three programs
  3. Check the institution’s own admission pages

Canadian Hospitality Programs

Tourism is one of the fastest growing and most dynamic fields in the world. If you’re interested in a career in this exciting industry, Canada is an ideal location for your studies. It’s a top ten tourist destination, and the Canadian hospitality industry is always seeking qualified workers. As a result, Canadian schools have developed some of the most well-respected and innovative Hospitality and Tourism programs in the world.

Canadian post-secondary institutions offer a wide variety of hotel, restaurant and resort management programs. Here you can learn about managing accommodation, transportation, food and beverage, attractions, events and conferences, travel, and tourism services. You can earn a diploma or applied degree in Hospitality Management, or a Business degree with a specialization in this field.

There are also many related studies you can pursue. Adventure Tourism programs teach guiding basics, such as white-water rafting, mountain climbing and wilderness first aid. If you’re concerned about the environment, Environmental Tourism programs will teach you to safely lead groups into wilderness areas without damaging fragile ecosystems. There are even programs related to specific recreation activities, such as Golf Course Management.

Whether you’re interested in owning a small inn, working at an internationally recognized hotel, running your own adventure company, organizing activities on a cruise ship or managing your own restaurant, you will find a Hospitality and Tourism program that is right for you in Canada.
