CBEI is one of the most respected English language schools in Canada. Our English for Work and Business (EWB) Program is designed for professionals, business people and university students. Our General English Program is for those who need English for academic preparation, general interest or travel. These intensive programs include 25 hours of instruction each week, and are offered year-round at several levels. Students who reach an advanced level in our EWB program may be eligible for our Business English Practicum program, which includes an internship in a Canadian company. Students who want to further intensify their studies can also join our optional test preparation and Pronunciation classes, or take private lessons. Our teachers are friendly, experienced, and hold relevant university degrees and recognized TESL certification. Classes are interactive and student-centered. CBEI has been recently renovated and facilities are bright, spacious and modern. Amenities include 11 classrooms, a student kitchen, and a computer lab with free internet and email access. We are located in downtown Vancouver’s business, tourism and cultural district, close to parks and beaches. Our English-only policy and wide range of weekly activities encourage English practice. Airport pick-up and homestay are included in our services as well. CBEI is registered with the government’s Private Post Secondary Education Commission to provide student consumer protection, and registered with Immigration Canada to provide Letters of Acceptance for student visas. We are also members of many educational and business associations that help us to give the best possible service to our clients.

Private Lessons
Optional private lessons are available to students enrolled in CBEI programs. During private lessons students work one-on-one with an instructor in the area that is important for their business, career, or academic studies. The instructor will prepare special materials and will provide personal guidance. There are two types of Private Lessons: General English (ESL), and English for Specific Purposes (ESP). General English (ESL)private lessons focus mainly on English used in everyday life, for tourism, social activities, or general communication in business and academic environments. The instructor prepares lessons to meet the student\'s particular needs, and engages the student in an intensive program of study. English for Specific Purposes(ESP)private lessons are suitable for people who need to learn specialized English, such as in business, finance, science, engineering, or management. The ESP private lessons are also suitable for students preparing for specific entry examinations, such as medical, law, or engineering schools. The instructor will prepare special materials and lessons to meet the student\'s personal learning needs and also the specialized topic area of ESP studies.
