You will find the QCC teaching style appealing and innovative. We emphasize student-teacher interaction, offering a wealth of individualized instruction.
Our professional faculty and student services staff are accessible and supportive. They will make you feel comfortable as they encourage you to speak English in your classes and in your everyday life. They will help ease your adjustment to your new surroundings, to the Canadian educational system and to the different culture.
PRE-UNIVERSITY PROGRAM
If you have a strong desire to attend University abroad but need to hone your language skills and introduce yourself to the western style of education, this program is suited to you.
This is a 10 - 12 month program, with a concentration in courses that will help you to satisfy University entrance requirements, while, at the same time, preparing you for the challenge of post-secondary education.
The course of study involves a number of enriched Grade 12 subjects, taken in conjunction with a variety of academic English courses. Some post-secondary institutions (including the University of Regina) may waive the minimum TOEFL requirement for graduates of our program.
If you want to enrol in a Canadian university but do not yet meet the requirements, this program is for you!
SUMER ESL CAMP
This program is a high energy, fun, dynamic, vibrant class where students have many opportunities to learn English and to immerse themselves in the culture and community of Regina.
This course is designed to improve conversation skills while exploring the Regina cultural, sporting and arts scene. Part of each day involves in-class instruction, while the remainder of each day will involve off-campus activities. This camp begins in early July and concludes late August every year.
Camp activities vary throughout the summer. You could find yourself...at the IMAX Theater, playing sports, hiking, at the beach, swimming, boating, watersliding, at a barbecue, golfing, at a professional football game, dancing, touring, at a pizza party, shopping, having \"high tea\" and much more!
3-MONTH ESL PROGRAM
This class focuses intensively on speaking and listening skills along with a reading/writing component and can assist you in your preparation for the TOEFL, a basic requirement for most post-secondary institutions in Canada and the US.
Pronunciation, idioms, vocabulary, group discussions, grammar, music, guest speakers, role playing, and interviewing are all components of this intensive ESL offering.
No minimum level of proficiency is required but appropriate placement will be determined through testing. Students are eligible to enrol at any time throughout the school year, with courses starting at the beginning of the month.
