The University College of the Fraser Valley (UCFV), an accredited public Canadian university one hour from Vancouver, B.C., Canada, serves 6700 Canadian students and 400 International students from 40 different countries. UCFV offers 50 major & minor areas of study, over 80 one-year certificates and two-year diplomas, comprehensive ESL certificate programs, and several Co-operative Education program options. Our main campuses are located in Abbotsford and Chilliwack and feature modern facilities and beautiful grounds. UCFV offers highly qualified instructors dedicated to teaching. UCFV, also, offers small class sizes and an extensive support system for International students. More than 16,000 people have graduated from UCFV with a certificate, diploma, or degree since 1975. Popular degree and diploma programs include: Computer Information Systems, Business Administration and Aviation, Library Technology, Criminal Justice, Fashion Design, Kinesiology and Physical Education, and various Arts and Sciences Programs. The Co-op program offers students the option of alternating full-time academic study with full-time paid work placements in their disciplines. Computer Information Systems
The CIS certificate and diploma programs are integrated. You can ladder from one credential to the next.
Graduates from the certificate program are knowledgeable about and experienced with smaller single-user systems.
Graduates from the diploma program are capable of working with both single and networked systems, as well as mid-size systems.
The Bachelor of Computer Information systems is a laddered degree which builds upon the base of knowledge in the diploma program, and provides graduates with additional technical knowledge and skills as well as more business background.
Bachelor of Arts Degree
This credential recognizes successful completion of undergraduate study (your first degree from university). You can choose to major in one of six specific areas of study: English, geography, history, mathematics, psychology, and sociology/anthropology. Minors are available in anthropology, applied ethics and political philosophy, business administration, criminal justice, English, geography, history, Latin American studies, mathematics, mathematics/statistics, media and communicaiton studies, sociology, theatre, and visual arts. Extended minors are also available in many of these disciplines as well as biology.
Agriculture
UCFV agriculture programs all place an emphasis on holistic management practices which are compatible with agricutlural sustainability and society\'s increasing concerns about food safety, animal welfare, and the environment.
Criminal Justice Diploma or Degree
The Criminal Justice progrmas are designed for students interested in pursuing a career in criminal justice, and those interested in preparing for further study in the fields of criminology, criminal justice, or social justice, or attending law school.
Bachelor of Science Degree
The BSc is a program of academic study for students pursuing education or career goals in the natural sciences, and currently offers students the option of pursuing a major in biology, chemistry, mathematics, or physics, or any two minors selected from biology, chemistry, mathematics, mathematics (statistics option), and physics.
