Jean Béliveau left his home in Montreal in August 2000 to begin a 12-year walk across the globe to support non-violence for children. This is in compliance with the UN declaring the decade 2000-2010 "The International Decade for a Culture of Non-Violence and Peace in Benefit of the Children of the World".
In almost three years of his journey, Mr. Béliveau has walked over 17,000 kilometers, crossing a part of Canada, the United States, Mexico, Central America, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia, Chile, Argentina and now Brazil. He will leave São Paulo and head to South Africa later this month, where he will continue his pilgrimage on the African continent.
